Really Nice Fire Pit (After a bit of work) Came undamaged, which is a minor miracle in itself given the weight of the pit bowl, so cudos for good packing. The installation was easy enough, but a tad concerned about the size of the fasteners given that they will be subject to repeated heating and cooling and left outside…may get a friend to do some tack welding before cold weather sets in. I did go to Lowes and purchase a couple of cans of high heat paint…painted the inside of the bowl matte black, let that dry, flipped it over and…
Looks great, very brittle, be careful handling it.
It’s a big metal dish to hold fire… …and as such, it’s fine.Expect to be covered with a fine black Chinese metal dust after assembling it. And don’t expect any socket wrench you have to fit the nuts. Metric, fractional – doesn’t matter. The nuts are kind of in-between and you’ll need a crescent wrench to hold them while you crank the hex bolts (with your chest is up against the bowl collecting more fine black Chinese metal dust).Putting this together made me wonder how the unfortunate people who work in…
