My old patio cover was built over my roof, leveled and extended 4ft out from my foundation. My foundation is only 18ft x 8ft and my eave already extended out and covers 4ft of it. Poor shade provider, sub-par gutter My wife and I decided on this because we wanted something that was attractive, I could do myself, would shelter us from rain, offer SOME shade(i.e. be slightly cooler), but not totally block sunlight from the windows it was installed over. Well built, nice looking, worth the investment. They could make a few changes. I love the patio cover. There are some things to think about. Measurements are not very clear. I got a 24’x10′. My patio was 22′ x 8.5′ so I thought I could let it hang over the edge of the patio and go over the roof line from a kitchen nook. It worked in my mind, but not in reality. The front of the cover (lowest side) is a fixed size I think it was 8′ but you can’t find that measurement on the documentation before you buy. So if you have any obstructions make sure of your measurements…
