PURPOSE: Protects your wood deck, composite deck, patio, concrete areas and lawn from the extreme heat created by portable wood burning Fire Pits and Chiminea’s.
APPLICATION: Place “Deck Defender & Grass Guard” under your fire pit or chiminea and burn as usual without the fear of heat damage to the area.
METHOD OF OPERATION: It effectively blocks heat by incorporating three elements that pertain to the principles of radiant heat transfer. #1) High shine metals reflect heat, #2) Aluminum acts as a heat sink, and #3) Multi layered metals with an air space in between create a natural insulation effect because air is a poor conductor of heat. That’s the same principle NASA uses in insulating its space suits and space crafts. Simple, lightweight, no moving parts or necessary maintenance, and it works remarkably well.
TESTED: It’s 100% fire-proof and has been extensively tested to extreme conditions. Fire pits average approximately 1,000 to 1,200 degrees F. “Deck Defender” has been tested up to 1,500 degrees F – so use with confidence.
MATERIALS: Aluminum top plate and lower steel sub-frame operate together in a 2-piece construction. Frame is powder coated black and includes wide feet for lawn applications. It is quality hand crafted using the finest materials and manufacturing processes for longevity and appearance. It will provide you with years of trouble free service. “Deck Defender” is outdoor storage safe and sits above the surface of the deck providing airflow to prevent moisture from accumulating.

Perfect! I got this so we could use our … Perfect! I got this so we could use our fire bowl on our composite deck without melting it. I was a little bit skeptical, so I used an infrared thermometer to see just how well it performed. The top of the protector beneath the fire bowl was 351 degrees. The deck just beyond the perimeter of the protector was 66 degrees, and tge deck directly beneath it was 58 degrees. Deck Defender & Grass Guard is a quality product made with care I bought another deck protector from Amazon before I found the Deck Defender & Grass Guard. It was much more expensive and when it arrived, it was absolute JUNK! The metal work was terrible, they included both 10″x30″ fiber panels and 10″x10″ fiber panels….and were missing some. The fiber panels were exposed (meaning you had to put the firepit on it) and there is no way those fiber panels would have lasted a season. Plus, touching them was like touching fiberglass where the…
